Thinking out loud

Just looking over these photos and reflecting about my good fortune at scoring these row 10 seats.  Scooted over to Toot's seat in Row 2 for a few photos.  It  makes me wonder if I would also move to row 2 for a sermon by Jesus?  How many of us scramble to get up close at venues like a concert but we are the ones to sit in the back of the church at mass.  Why aren't we fighting for the front row to worship our God?  Instead we fight for "our" pew or to get out of the parking lot.  Over the last few months, I've moved around our parish for seating to get a new perspective, to meet new people and to get a different 'feel' for the parish.    My desire is to wish for "front row" seats to worship our God as well as for others to desire to get closer to our Creator who provides the talent we see in these stars we see in concert and on stage.

Lazy blogger

Yes, I've been a lazy blogger lately.  Summer is technically, if not officially, over.  Back to class on Monday and although I know I'll enjoy, I selfishly don't want to give up my free time.

I took it as a sign from God that it will all be right, I scored tickets to Rush last night in Manchester.  Like when I went to see VH, I had forgotten how much I like them.

Here are the photos from last night's show, Row ten center on the floor:

Week 2 at the beach begins.  Haven't hit the beach yet, but so far much success.  Have read 5 novels and over 100 comics in a week.

Fell behind the curve yesterday though.  We went to Star Island, part of the Isle of Shoals.  Got a bit of a burn, but many, many nice shots.  Some below.

Two weeks

Only two weeks until our two week vacation at the shore.  Had a busy week with work.  I find myself missing the church activity during the summer.  Without class, and lower activity at parishes, I'm left with more free time than usual.  I've spent it this past week reading more comic books than usual, which is good for making a small dent in the stack of books.

Looking forward to reading some Lee Child over the next few weeks.  He's the next best thing to Robert B. Parker and his Spenser novels.  Tom Cruise is slated to play Reacher in an upcoming movie on one of Lee Child's books.  Great character, almost as good as Spenser.

Neil Diamond June 23, 2012 TD Banknorth Garden, Row 4

Photos of Neil.  At 71, he's as good as ever.  It's hard to do a 2 hr show with mostly 2-3 minute songs in your portfolio, but it was fantastic.
